Today you can find a variety of products with rococo shapes in new materials. But no attempts to modernize the shape itself. This is the concept of Smånsk Neo Rococo. Truly modern products with the visual qualities of an ornamented style like the rococo. The table “Jean Pape” and the commode “Haupt” are derived from pixelated original rococo blueprints. To meet the modern, simplification seemed the right way to go. To achieve this we lowered the resolution, and numbers of polygons in models of authentic rococo furniture.
”Ryggraden" is a piece of furniture where length and shape can modified. The parts are held together with a simple joint. They cannot stand on their own, but together they create a piece of furniture which adapts to various rooms and spaces. It can even be adjusted to variable ground levels. You can use a few of the parts to assemble a stool, or you can use many parts to create a bench that stretches out along the whole length of a corridor. Or the length of a garden.
Smånsk designer Simon caught by fashion blogger The Sartorialist. Now he won’t stop bragging about it.
Smånsk is exhibiting at the International Furniture Fair in Copenhagen 10-13 May. Come see us in booth E0001!
Smånsk is launched as a studio at the Milan Furniture Fair! Passing out over 7000 flyers and making new friends and business partners it was a great success.
”Snealth” is a module based sound absorbing acoustic panel with modern design. It is either mounted directly on the wall or used as a screen for open plan offices. The user can easily decide the size and shape of the panel. Today there is a gap between the acoustic panels that derive from function and those that derive from form. “Snealth” is designed to fill that gap.
